If you’ve been following my blog, then you know about the Tylenol Incident here at home. Today, I was very lucky to have Colleen Driscoll, Executive Director of the  International Association for Child Safety join me on my Blog Talk Radio show. On today’s show, I mentioned that Leaps and Bounds sent me the Medicine Safe and the Clean Guard to try out, and I am so thankful they did!

In the Tylenol Incident, while my husband and I were still asleep, my girls worked together and got their hands on their Children’s Tylenol and decided to give themselves a dose, since they were still sick. That opened my eyes and made me realize that my house just wasn’t as safe as I had thought it was. I went on a mission to find something that I could use to lock up all of the medicines that we had in the house. After visiting several stores, and asking if they had a medicine safe, they all looked at me like I had no idea what I was talking about. In contacted Leaps and Bounds as soon as I got home and they were more than willing to send one to me to try out. Honestly, the medicine safe and the Clean Guard both make me feel so much safer having one more barrier between my girls and these potentially harmful things! Read the rest of this entry »

My hubby was given a gift card to Zócalo Restaurant for his birthday from a good friend of ours. We had never heard of Zócalo, and we both love Mexican food, so this was going to be a real treat for us! We made reservations for 4pm, the day after Valentine’s Day thinking it would be less busy, and it was a better time for my parents to come watch the girls.

We dressed up a little, since we don’t often get to, and headed out. Parking was actually very easy to find on the street next to the restaurant. We walked in, and were seated right away. The atmosphere was really wonderful. Our server, Fredi, was so awesome. He was very attentive and made sure we always had what we needed! He did explain a couple of items on the menu, and made some really great suggestions for my drinks, and our meal.We ended up with the Camarones Habaneros for the appetizer, which was so good. I ordered the Salmon Cozumel, and my husband ordered the Tres Tacos. Oh my goodness, the food was divine! It was the best Mexican food that we have ever had at a restaurant.

All in all, it was a superb dinner, with exceptional service, and it turned out to be a perfect night out for us.  Thank you to our server Fredi and the rest of the staff at Zócalo Sacramento! You made our Valentine’s Dinner so amazing!

** This giveaway is now closed **

If you know me, then you know that I used to be am a Pampered Chef addict! As much as I try to get away from it, I just can’t. I love all the cool tools, and gadgets and gizmos, but I think most of all, I love their Stoneware. When Pampered Chef offered me a chance to check out one of their coolest pieces of Stoneware, of course I had to say “Yes!”

The Review:

I was sent their  Cranberry Deep Covered Baker! The exciting part: The Deep Covered Baker will be released in White March 1st!

I’ve never been a fan of the color coated stones, until now. I’ve always liked the classic stones, just because I was worried about chipping of the paint, or scratching, but it’s surprisingly durable!

Along with the Deep Covered Baker, I was sent a copy of their Season’s Best Cookbook. This cookbook is one of the best that I have ever received from Pampered Chef! There are some amazing recipes in this cookbook, and it’s only $1!!! Yes, $1!  Well, after looking through this cookbook, I was on a mission! That mission, which I chose to accept was to make dinner for my family in this baker. We chose the Grilled Chicken Penne Al Fresco, but made just a couple of changes to it. It was delicious and made in the microwave! Yes, you read that correctly.. in the microwave! Read the rest of this entry »
