Review & Giveaway: Bissell ProDry Carpet Cleaner

When I was approached by Bissell to try out one of their new products, I jumped at the opportunity! I reviewed their Little Green Machine last year, and absolutely LOVED it! It’s one of my daily use machines! When they offered up a ProDry machine, I took a look at their product information and saw that it stated that the carpet would dry within 30 minutes. That alone got me intrigued. I would love to have my carpets clean and dry in 30 minutes! Perfect for my play dates, and it would definitely cut down on cleaning time and chaos in the house! I could move my furniture back much faster!

When the cleaner arrived, I was super excited to get it together and try it out. I took all of the parts out of the box and looked a little perplexed. Instead of brush-type scrubbers, it had a roller, similar to what you’d see on a paint roller, just a little thicker. I read through the instructions to make sure I had everything correct, and put everything together. I thought I’d start in the living room since it’s one of the more used rooms in the house. I filled the reservoir with the solution and hot water. As I was carrying it back to the cleaner, water started spilling out on me. I took it back to the sink and reset the nozzle just in case I had mis-threaded it, but I didn’t. This time, I grabbed a towel to take with me. I flipped the reservoir over and put it back on the machine. Once the reservoir was seated, I started it up.

I took the cleaner for a “tour” of my living room carpet. I completed my entire carpet, and went back to the spots with the hand tool. It took them out with no problem. It did seem to fluff up the carpet and make it more plush. It wasn’t as compacted as before I went over it. The carpet was damp, but not soaking wet like when I’ve used some of the other carpet cleaners. 

I thought I’d try the Oxy-gen tool on a chair that we got from storage. It was quite dusty, and it didn’t seem to really come clean with the tool. I ended up getting out my Bissell Little Green Machine instead. 

My overall opinion about this machine is that it’s good for in between deep cleanings. It will help to keep your carpet fresh and not looking run down, avoiding worn in spots in the high traffic areas. It does get stains out with the hand tool if you have any really bad spots. Oh, and yes, my carpet was dry in 30 minutes. Even in the cold weather!

    This house has so much traffic that this would be wonderful to have. I don’t wash the rugs near as often as I should because it takes so long for the rug to dry and in the mean time we can’t use the living room and the house is torn apart until it is dry the next day. It is such a hassle and since this one leaves your rugs dry in 30 minutes it would be PERFECT~! I could wash the rug and have the house put back to normal in an hour. How terrific is that. I also would like to own their Little Green for spot cleaning. I have a cat that sometimes get sick from hair balls even though we buy her special food so this would come in real handy as well.     I’ve been wanting a carpet steamer for months! I’ve been dealing with stains popping up on the carpet ever since my baby boy joined us. I’ve been thinking about the Little Green, but not sure if it would be big enough to handle the job. Dirty carpet drives me nuts!
