Review: GardenLites Veggie Souffles

Gardenlites are a Gluten Free, All Natural and Vegetarian dish that is a good options for a quick and easy lunch or side dish at dinner! Gardenlites come frozen and heat up in the microwave in under 5 minutes. They can also be baked in the oven, but that takes a little bit longer.  Each souffle contains 2 full servings of vegetables and is 200 calories or less for the entire dish. Garden Lites Vegetable Souffles are a convenient way to get the veggies you need  while juggling a busy lifestyle. Your children won’t know they’re getting 2 full servings of vegetables!

We finally had the chance to try out the Zucchini souffle the other night, but we haven’t tried either the Butternut Squash or the Roasted Vegetable souffles yet.

My main take away from this review. When microwaving these things… LEAVE THE PLASTIC ON! I didn’t the first time, and it was not cool. Take 2 went much better.

The verdicts:

My girls didn’t like them and my hubby and I thought they were just ok. I was looking more for a fluffy egg kind of texture, and what we got was more of a custard like texture. The flavors were really good though. Despite the higher-than-I’d-like sodium content, they didn’t taste like they were overly salty or anything. They did taste… healthy. We are going to keep trying the other flavors and see how we like them

Walmart currently carries the Gardenlites Souffles in Butternut Squash, Zucchini and Roasted Vegetable. I checked out the Gardenlites home page, and honestly, I hope more of their flavors make it to my local Walmart store! There are a few others that I would LOVE to try out!

Now, I can’t speak on how healthy these products are. I can go with what’s on the nutrition fact chart, or by what is told to me.. but, these products have been featured on a few shopping lists and shows that can! So.. these might just be a great product to check out for those of you that are looking towards eating healthier!
